CHANGE IS IN THE AIR

It’s been a while. But I have a good excuse. There is so much changing in my life right now it’s making my poor little head spin. I had a second heart attack last July, open heart surgery in September, my mom died in November, and now I am moving for the first time in over 20 years to a different area. Ok…enough!!!

I feel like my life is “One Battle After Another.” My goal is to take a week off once we are moved in to decompress. Maybe two. I haven’t even had time to grieve my mom’s death, although I’ve been grieving for years because she had Alzheimers and if you know someone who has or had it, you know you lose them long before they die.

And then you are facing your own mortality, especially after open heart surgery!

So, short but sweet, my plan is to get back into consistent writing, posting, and creating content in mid to late February. I have a new book, FILE A, an epistolary thriller/sci-fi novel, almost ready to launch, and a new management company marketing my horror stories with my writing partner in crime, Denise Agnew. She had open heart surgery a while back, so we are being branded as the “Cardiac Sisters: Queens of Heart-Stopping Horror.” Love it!

So, yeah, lots going on and everything is changing, more than I would like to face all at once. Hoping God goes a bit easier on me in 2026!

Spring is Sprunging

Wow, already on the verge of spring and I am still in January mode. How about you? So much going on and time just keeps passing quicker and quicker. I am trying to take Sundays off but am actually doing this on a Sunday, so yeah, you see how that is going!

Just finishing up a thriller script called DE LA LUZ that turns the entire Bigfoot trope on its head, and about halfway done with my big alien invasion novel, FILE A. My goal is to have the draft done by June and release the book by the end of the year. Working on a few other things in the meantime, too. Spring is a time of renewal and rebirth, so it’s time to resurrect one of my fave projects that was published a couple of years ago but the publisher didn’t follow through with a second novel in the series. So revamping it entirely and will hopefully have that out soon. It’s a conspiracy thriller. I seem to be drawn to that kind of stuff!

IS IT REALLY FEBRUARY ALREADY?

Good grief, it’s the middle of February. Where is the time going??? I pretty much spent the last year battling heart issues and dizziness and taking care of my mom, who has advanced Alzheimer’s, so not a lot of work got done. But back focusing a bit on me, on healing and on writing. Woohooooo! About half way done with FILE A, my UFO novel, and working on a few other things at the same time. My brain isn’t what it used to be, but I can handle more than I could before. My secret is being awakened in the middle of the night with great ideas that, if I don’t right them down, vanish into the void by morning. Ugh…writer’s curse. Hope all is well with everyone!
